Stress Reduction
I believe we all live in a fast-paced environment and are bombarded by stress every day. The stressers of today are no longer mainly physical, yet our bodies respond as if they were. Stress, if not attended to, can negatively affect our mental, emotional and physical well-being. It can also be cumulative and stored in our physical body. I am sure you have all experienced at least one of the following:
- Tension/Tightness/Discomfort/Pain in Your neck and or shoulders, back or anywhere in your body
- Inability to fall asleep or stay asleep
- Stomach distress
- Physical aches, pains or conditions (high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, etc...)
Many consider stress to be the underlying cause of various illnesses. This class will teach you how stress affects our physical body. The main stress in people's lives no longer comes from physical threats, yet our bodies still respond as if it does. You will learn how to identify where stress is showing up in your body and many techniques (most of which are easy and free to perform) on how to reduce stress and it's effects. You can pick and choose which options you want to try or you can try them all to find out which ones resonate and work for you.
Some of the stress-reduction techniques we cover include:
- Breathing Techniques
- Grounding and Filling (self-awareness)
- Meditation and QiGong
- Healthy Boundaries
- Power of Positivity - Our Thoughts are our Choice
- Inspiration
- Organization and Prioritization
Most of these can be performed anywhere, anytime and are easy to do and cost nothing. They are life-long tools you can use to help manage and reduce the stress in your life.
The class is a round table setting and very enjoyable. If comfortable, we all share some ideas and feedback. The class flys by quickly and you will have learned A LOT of information by the end.
I hope to see you there!!
